After his martyrdom, a few ISI-[indexed] articles appeared under his name. One of our friends commented that if our enemies knew the caliber of the person whom they took away from us [by their terrorist act of assassination], they would leave our nuclear industry alone for ten or twenty years. We paid a heavy price with his martyrdom. Of course, Professor Shahriyārī was so generous with his knowledge that his students can continue his work. But nonetheless, to use Professor Abbāsī’s words, Professor Shahriyārī was someone whose maintenance costs for the system were very low and whose benefits were very high. This is actually a paraphrase of how Imam Ali  describes the true believers (al-mo’menīn) in the Nahj ol-Balāgha.
