On every religious occasion, and especially on the anniversaries of the martyrdoms of the Imams , Shahīd Shahriyārī would talk for five minutes at the beginning of class about [subjects having to do with] the religious occasion. His talks were fascinating to the point that we all wanted those five minutes to continue for the whole session. When he talked about the Ahl al-Bayt  (the Members of the Household of the Prophet ﷺ), he would be on the verge of tears. He would then regain his composure and start the lesson.
